Zsuzsa Ferenczi tapestry (gobelin) artist-craftsman

I was born in Budapest, Hungary on 01. august. 1960.            Back

My main activity is the weaving of tapestry. This technics goes back to centuries and was developed from the kopt kilim-technics. It is called gobelin as well but this way many mean it incorrectly embroidered gobelin. It is made by a design painted on paper and completed on a vertical weaving loom. Often several coloured thin threads are woven together to form really colourful pictures. One square-meter area is often prepared for months because of its meticulosity. My largest work till date is 200x300 cm.
I am dealing with painting, illustration and copperplate as well.
In 2006 I was awarded by the Ferenc Laborc Foundation.
